Warning against misleading requests for payment for trademark applications

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that trademark owners are currently being increasingly contacted by companies sending high invoices for – nothing. They charge fees for the entry of trademarks in any registers, which only serve the purpose of pretending official registers to laymen and charging you high fees. Since trademark registers are publicly accessible, the scammers simply monitor the new applications and thus have the addresses of the trademark owners right away.

Misleading invoices

In connection with trademark applications and renewals, the trademark offices warn against misleading offers, requests for payment and invoices that do not come from the offices. Do not pay such alleged invoices under any circumstances! In case of doubt, please contact us. If you register your trademark through us, you will receive all official letters and cost notes through us.

As a client, you will receive all invoices exclusively through us as your representatives, so that you can be sure to pay only to the correct payees.

When you receive such invoices, you can either send them to the offices directly or to us for forwarding and informing the office.

Generally, for us, you will receive a lawyer’s invoice and a letter from the Office (through us) with the payment information for the Office fees. So, in total, two payment items. That’s it.

So be a bit careful and especially inform your accounting department etc. that such external invoices are not simply instructed automatically.

In case of doubt: Ask us!
